The Root of all Negative Emotions
Fear is the Root of all Evil
2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind”.
Question: From all emotions, why did God choose “fear” to appear in this specific bible verse?
Note:
Fear is the root for all negative emotions. The battle is always against fear. One has to fight fear and learn to trust the Lord. God was trying to teach us that fear is the root of all negative emotions and that love defeats it (Read 1 John 4:18). Therefore, love is the root of all positive emotions.
1 Timothy 6:10 KJV
“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows”.
Note:
The love of money comes from fear because it is wanted for the provision of our needs, desires, and security. That is why all negative emotions have to be traced back to fear, as the root of all evil.
Angels always start their messages with “Fear not”
Luke 1:30 KJV
“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God”.
Luke 2:10 KJV
“And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people”.
Daniel 10: 12-13 KJV
“Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia”.
Note:
The enemy will never tell us “fear not” because fear comes from him. The enemy uses fear to keep us from taking the next step forward within the purpose of the Lord in our lives (John 10:10). On the other hand, every time there will be a higher level of theophany (manifestation of God) in the Spirit Realm, the Lord will tell you to “not be afraid” or will send His angels to minister unto you.
One Learns Fear in Society
Genesis 1:26 KJV
Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground”.
Proverbs 25:28 KJV
“He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls”.
Rule over- Dominion, prevail against, to reign.
Rule over his own spirit- Self-control.
A city that is broken down- The one that knows, but does not minister or act because of fear.
Without walls- You get attacked constantly and are not protected.
Note:
One learns fear in society. We were created in God’s image and with the ability to “prevail against”. The city of the Lord is not a broken down city because it has dominion and authority. On the other hand, a city that is broken down has no dominion, nor self-control; and it does not “prevail against” because of fear. Finally, the City of God has the gates of Zion, which means that it’s a city with walls and it is not broken down (Psalm 87: 1-3).
