Who exactly should we Honor?

Exodus 20:12 KJV

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Ephesians 6:2-3 KJV

Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;

That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

Mathew 15:4 KJV

For God commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.

NOTE:

These bible verses state that one should honor the father and the mother; however, one can see below to whom these verses are actually referring to in order to follow Jesus.

Luke 14:26 KJV

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

.
 NOTE:

The Lord is not a God of confusion, but a God of truth. In this case, the word of the Lord will not contradict itself. In the first three verses it states that one has to honor father and mother, but in Luke 14, it states that if one does not hate father nor mother, he or she cannot be a disciple of Jesus. Then, what does honoring father and mother really mean?

1 Peter 1:23 KJV

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

James 1:18 KJV

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

Begat- to breed forth.

NOTE:

The mother is the one whom bears a child and the child is born of the mother. Therefore, if “by the word of God one can be born again”, this means that the mother is actually the word of God. On the other hand, the father is God. Furthermore, we have to honor both, the mother and the father; God and His word (Jesus) in order to be true disciples of the Lord. Jesus is the word because He is “The way, the truth and the life”; and the truth is the word of God.
