THE SONS OF GOD ARE RISING

God chooses us before the foundation of the world that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. Love is what makes us blameless.

Romans 13:10

Love does no wrong to a neighbor [it never hurts anyone]. Therefore [unselfish] love is the fulfillment of the Law.

There are 4 Greek words that are translated “son” in the New Testament:

  • Baby- Nepios. (Matthew 11:25)
  • Toddler- Paidon. (Matthew 19:3)
  • Teenager- Teknon. (Matthew 9:2)
  • Uihos – is a fully mature son of God whose been trained. (John 8:35)

Galatians 4:1-2

Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.

Hebrews 5:8

Jesus, though He was a Son, He learned obedience by the things He suffered.

Note: Though He was morally perfect and blameless; He had to be our intercessor and a perfect sacrifice. So He had to be tested in every way, yet without sin.

Ephesians 3:14-19 (For this reason = to be filled in all the fullness of God).

For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE? IT TAKES FITTING TOGETHER AND BUILDING TOGETHER.

Ephesians 4:11-13

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

THE SONS OF ZEBEDEE MENDING THE NET

Matthew 4:20-22

And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.

Mending the Net = mending in greek is “equipping”.

Note: We are ALL the net. We ALL have to be mended. Mending is where there’s been a stress and a tear and you mend the net. That’s equipping.

Relational Friction = all of us can have it but we need to be mended, knit together.

Offense, criticism, withdrawing affection, or putting a wall = Those things have to be dealt with so we can be knit together in love.

Synergy = the total is greater than the sum of the parts.

The Blessing (Psalm 133) is the life of God’s Spirit:

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

1 John 4:12

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. If we love one another, God dwells among us.

This is spiritual synergy = to pursue righteousness, faith and love with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

Romans 8:19

For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God;
