The Salvation Of Our Souls

1 Peter 1:9

receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

End= goal

Philippians 2:12

“Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

Paul and Timotheus are directing the letter to “All the Saints in Christ” (See Philippians 1:1). Because even the Saints in Christ had to “work out their own salvation with fear and trembling”. We are saved by grace, but besides fear and trembling we have to be also watching that we “may be accounted worthy…to stand before the Son of man” (Read Luke 21:36). Moreover, what does grace do? Grace teaches us NOT to keep sinning. If we keep sinning, then Jesus died in vain in our lives and sin leads to Spiritual DEATH (James 1:15Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death).

Titus 2:11-15

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Matthew 24:13

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Note: The Saints in Christ (The Church) are NOT “once saved always saved”. Their goal in the body of Christ is to save their own souls (we are body, soul and spirit). The body goes back to the earth (dust goes to dust), the spirit goes back to the one who gave it (God The Father- Genesis 2:7) and the soul has to be cleansed. The soul determines if a so called “Christian” will end up in heaven or hell.

Revelation 20:5-6 (The First Resurrection)

But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Revelation 21:8 (The Second Resurrection)

 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Psalms 62

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Psalms 119:81

My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

Psalm 35:3

Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.

Hebrews 5:9 Salvation Unto Them That Obey Him

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

John 17:3

And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Note: Unfortunately, those that have gone astray, do not obey the Lord. They Became lost and are Not Saved.

Hebrews 6:4-9

For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:

But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.

But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

Eccles 3:11

He has planted eternity in the human heart but even so people cannot see the whole scope of Gods work.

Note: The human heart has to be cleansed. The desires of the flesh come from the heart. Planting eternity in the heart entails that our heart (soul) will lead us to which eternity? (Let’s take a moment in prayer to ask our Lord Jesus Christ to reveal what is in our human heart and to which eternity we are leaning towards.

Guide to Accomplish A Blameless Soul

1 Thess 5:23

Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Note: Sanctification is the will of God (Read 1 Thess 4: 3-5).

Let’s be able to say what Mary said:

Luke 1:46

And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord,

Let’s be able to all say what Jesus said:

John 14:30

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

1 Peter 1:22 (Soul purification comes from obeying the truth)

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Psalm 119:9 (Cleansing the soul with the word)

BETH. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word.
